(no subject)

As I was walking into work today I saw a hummingbird squaking at a tiny fluffy bird. I mean, the fluffy bird (chickadee? finch? I don't know birds) was maybe the size of a clemantine orange, maybe. And it was just sitting still as could be on this little low laying branch. The hummingbird would alight on the same branch, squak at the bigger bird (because hummingbirds are very small, even smaller than clemantine oranges), fly around a bit and squak some more. The fluffy bird didn't move, even a little. I don't know what the hummingbird was after. Or even what the heck it's doing when it's still so chill out.

And then, a few steps further down the walk, a blister on the underside of my foot burst. While I was walking. It hurt. I'm hobbling now.

LIST!

1. Go to work.
2. Work for at least 3.5 hours, preferably 4. Or until I finish with this last box of site archives. Whichever is shorter. 3.5
3. Poke around internet for new job postings.
3a. Work on cover letters if you find something nice looking Nothing applicable. Sigh.
4. Work out how the early bits of the paper should look.
4a. Write a little bit of the early bits, or rewrite as the case may be.
5. Mess about with formatting into footnotes.

12:15. I am pretty hungry. But I'm not sure what to do about lunch. I want something I can grab, bring back, and eat with chopsticks or a fork. Notice that "Don't buy lunch" is not on today's list.

Was it the hummingbird that lives in the shurbs/trees by the garbage outside the Burke? If so it was probably pissed that another bird has entered it's territory because I see that little guy there all the time, even when it's cold. I think it's confused or lost because shouldn't he seek out warm weather? My theory is that it's poor little mate got trapped and turned into one of the specimans we saw in Ornithology and now sits outside the Burke mourning the lose of it's love. I mean why else would it hang out in cold weather ;)
