Apr. 11th, 2009 10:02 amStarting the day out with a turkey, broccoli, onion, and cheese omelet (aka whatever's in the fridge omelet). Something about making breakfast feels so homey to me. Maybe it's the idea of cooking in the morning?
Turns out that I love the smell of sauteing onions. Reminds me of my paternal grandparents kitchen. I also like making hashbrowns from the potato. Perhaps a bit too work intensive to bother with on a regular basis, but nice on occasion.
Yesterday I decided that I would prepare easter dinner. This means I will heat up the pre-cooked ham I bought, make deviled eggs, make green bean casserole, and heat up some rolls. That says Easter to me: ham and green bean casserole.
I think I may have to go out and buy a ton of easter candy to make up "baskets" (which will probably just be bowls since we've really no need for baskets cluttering up our space). Even though we've been buying and eating easter candy for a month now, it seems wrong to let the day pass without some. Turns out holiday marking feels a lot more important to me in the past year or so.
