Camping was a bust. There was like one available spot, but it was not so good. Rainier was crazy busy. I bought a scratch off lottery ticket but didn't win anything.

I am/will be making strawberry jello pie from my mom's recipe, which is similar to this one. I made a graham cracker crust, which is cooling now. Not rocket science, I know, but I like the feeling of achievement. I'll do the actual jello business in the morning.

What's funny is that I have made traditional pie crust, but in the context of making apple dumplings, and thus have never made a pie from scratch. Now, I'm not sure that jello pie will count, but the crust counts, I think.

Also, ana4277, I am using the pie plate! I am likely to take photos.

I'm not sure why I didn't mention this to you before but as far as camping goes you should check out http://www.recreation.gov/welcome.do?topTabIndex=Home

this site will list all federal campgrounds and sites like the national park but also the national forests and BLM land. This way you can go camping virtually next to Mt. Rainier (since it's surrounded by National Forests) and these campgrounds are a lot less busy. I just put in available campsites for the first weekend in August and there are tons of sites still available in the national forests surround Mt. Rainier NP. Just thought I'd let you know in case you wanted to try again before it got cold. I find it funny that you are semi-racing to go camping before it gets too cold in the fall and I'm counting down the days to the fall so that I can finally go camping in nice weather ;)

Hehe. Yeah, Daniel's been looking at that site. The thing is that he says most of the National Forest sites require a 2 night stay on the weekends, and I'm not sure I'm really up for that.
