My loyal microwave died today.

Purchased nearly 7 years ago to make popcorn in my Freshman dorm room, it's been back and forth between Madison and Sheboygan Falls several times, across the country once, back across the Cascades, and survived an episode with some aluminum foil.

Finding a new microwave is a pain. I didn't think they'd be that expensive.

Is 1000 watts really better than 700?

Well, your food will cook faster. Also, higher wattage machines tend to be more expensive, and have more features if you're into that kind of thing.
