Let today be marked.

I have placed my pair of black Chuckies in the garbage. I have had these shoes since high school. The soles are worn smooth. The tongues attach to the toe by sheer force of will. There are holes the size of smaller feet. I could stick my toes out of them.

They will be missed.

I still have my red chuckies from 1990 and only wear them around the house. They have become special enough that I don't want them ruined by rain or mud outside.
I hope my twins grow to like Chuckies someday. They are just fun footwear.
