Got a call today - my new lenses for my glasses are ready. yay! So Daniel picks me up and we run down there (they're open till 6) and I get the lenses put in. Woot! Try them on and feel a little disoriented, figure it's just adjusting to my new prescription. Go home, unpack my new hula hoop (woot!), and go to read the internet. Having trouble. Close right eye, can see excellently out of my left eye. Close right eye, can't focus. Start freaking out. 5:45. Call eye place. They tell me to come back. Guy has me read the chart with my new right eye prescription - can't read below the third line.

Gladly, since I was in there within the hour, they still had my old lenses on the counter and were able to snap them back in. And I didn't feel like crying anymore. The guy said he would ask the receptionist to call me early on Monday. But at least I'm going to be able to see over the weekend without freaking out.

My hula hoop came today. It's pretty and with a little more practice I think I'll be able to have much rotating fun. I understand that the postman said it was the best shaped package of the day. Woo!

I bought it from Hemmerle Hoops, 42" in "fruit salad." It's collapsible, and was sent that way, doubled. It was wrapped in plastic bags, cling wrap, and priority stamps. Very effective!

ooooooh, that's lovely. looks like you must pair up that hoop and some socks you also have on flickr for a photo shoot!

i made my own collapsible hoop a few years ago and brought it with me to germany when i visited a friend. the people at the airport had no idea what to make of me. fun times. my collapsible hoop had a bad habit of sometimes folding in on me or pinching me in its uncollapsed state, but that could very well be because i am a total amateur at making collapsible hoops.
