froggy_dearChildrens. They live next door. When Daniel moved us in to the apartment, there was a very old lady living next door (who'd lived there for a very long time according to the landlady). But she died before I even got back from Wisconsin. For the past couple of weeks there's been a lot of activity next door - workers, the maintenance guy, and some people moving stuff in.
I was just in the back yard, and there are two children over there. About 3 and 5 by their size and language skills. Plus at least their mom and possibly "Shawn." Kids are nice. I told them they could have our leaves for the pile they were making.
But three people next door? Or four if Shawn lives with them? That's mad. This apartment is not so very big. It's a hell of a deal (on rent, srsly), but it's going to be tight with that many over there. Not my business really, but hard not to notice.
Incidentally, talking to those two kids in the backyard just now is more interaction than I have ever had with my neighbors yet. It was funny watching the strays react to them. Mostly staring. And occasional running in terror when approached by the childrens.
