It's nice when Daniel and I have the same day off. That means that we can go have an adventure. Tomorrow's adventure: Deception Pass.

Who needs to finish a thesis when there's old growth forest?

We drove across Whidbey to get home...longish drive but YAY ferry and Whidbey is abso-freaking-lutely gorgeous.

And, uh, I'm on Mike's computer and too lazy to switch lj names. YAY.

Hey that's where my husband grew up, he grew up on Whibey Island, I've been to Deception Pass a few times, that part of the country is worth adventuring for sure.

I hope you enjoyed it. I grew up on Fidalgo Island- 1/2 of Deception Pass - was my childhood home and favorite place. FYI- you could just drive that road straight North on Hwy 20 and visit the Washington Loop (Sunset Park) in Anacortes. Spectacular sunset on nw ocean. Also -It's just a short way from the terminal for the 5 hour ferry ride to Sidney, BC on Vancouver Island in Canada. Eh? Peace.

Did you learn anything about the caves in the cliffs that legend tells housed convicts and forced laborers? The caves are real. The rest is exaggerated. . . but true.
