Apr. 4th, 2007 09:51 pmWhat is it that I keep saying about time? That it goes so fast is what. By next Monday afternoon, I'll be in lovely San Francisco, tromping my way from Oakland to a hostel three blocks off Union Square.
So, most of the time I'll be at the conference. But what should
luli82 and I do at other times? Good clean cheap tourist stuff, good places to see, things to do, places to explore.... or should we just get ourselfs lost?
A whole week in SF. I love mid-quarter vacations.

Date: 2007-04-05 05:44 am (UTC)Let me know if you want to get together for breakfast or lunch sometime.
As for good clean fun, I'd recommend the Cartoon Art Museum (in South of Market) and the pirate store in my neighborhood. Cartoon Art Museum is $5 and the pirate store is theoretically free until you notice all the awesome things they sell.

Date: 2007-04-10 05:24 am (UTC)Okay, I went there once when I was new in town and didn't know any better. Those fish were totally not soothing to my soul!

Date: 2007-04-05 10:01 am (UTC)Golden Gate Park is cool, there's some black sand beaches in that area just north of the bridge, and I personally love Half Moon Bay which is just a short 30 min drive south of the city on California 1. Great beaches and I think the Maverick surf competitions are sometime soon down there near Point Montara, which has an awesome beach and a light-house hostel.
If you're into gardens there's some awesome Japanese gardens worth experiencing.

Date: 2007-04-05 12:47 pm (UTC)Walking around in the Mission is cool, as is going to Mission Dolores, if you're into that kind of thing.
Do ride the cable car, if only to get around the city and see different areas.
(I'm not much help -- I went in July for a party :P)
