Mar. 25th, 2007 08:06 pmAfter several days of ignoring the plaintive whines from my thesis, I gave in and made lists today. I made a list of what needs doing. I gave myself tasks each day for the next several weeks.
And, while the cinematic masterpiece known as Newsies played in the background, I finished the first round of formatting my citations into footnotes. Batman did some singing and dancing.
I really feel that my thesis is doable. If I accomplish things as I've set them out and if my committee doesn't want major changes to what they've seen and what they know, then I'm in shining shape. A lot depends on when they want to see a full draft of my paper. And on how much I'll do in San Francisco. I didn't assign myself anything for San Francisco, but it might be nice to have something to do. Maybe if my abstract gets accepted to Rethinking Museums, I'll work on my paper for that. But we'll see how it goes. Always a game of wait and see.
But I am optimistic that I am not, as they say, up Shit Creek without a paddle.
