Something about really getting down to work fills me with the overwhelming urge to pick up my clothes and put them away properly. It's channeled avoidance.

But I really need to pick up those clothes.

I've revised my opinion on this. I say, may as well pick up the clothes -- and make the bed and do the dishes while you're at it. Even if you get nothing written, at least you aren't even more angry at the end of the day. :)

I am right there with you. I don't know which is worse, the compulsion to slack or the uncontrollable feelings of guilt for taking a break after five hours straight of work on a weekend. I hate end of quarter.
