Texas Republican Congressmember Joe Barton was quoted as saying: "I cannot imagine any objective finding that CO2 is a pollutant. If that's true, God is a polluter."

So, okay, CO2 on it's own isn't a pollutant - it's naturally occuring, very necessary, but the excess of CO2 produced by industry and farting cows and whatever does lead to more and more heat getting trapped on earth. So, not a pollutant, but still bad. Also, Barton's quote implies that he has no belief in free will. Which amuses me. And terrifies me at the same time because not believing in free will is believing that everything one chooses (or is compelled depending on your side of the coin) is part of an approved divine plan.

This quote was given in a context that implied that Barton does not believe that global warming is occuring.

Dear Congressman,

Water was made by God. Water is a good thing. It helps our crops grow and keeps our clothes clean. I like water.

Please tell God that what happened in New Orleans last year was Not Good. That was Too Much Water. That was So Much Water that it was a Very Not Good Thing.

I know he's God and infallible and all, but I think he made a mistake when he sent all that water to New Orleans.
