I don't get Thanksgiving. Yay for Turkey, yay for invading a country and spreading disease. Whatever. I usually don't think of it like that.

But, despite that, I wanted turkey this year. And turkey shall be had in the form of a Dinty Moore Classic Bake - that's a cassarole where everything you need is included in the box. In addition there are crescent rolls. There are also baby red po-tay-toes that can be boiled if we need more glut. But I think those can be had another day. I love baby red potatoes. There is also frozen apple pie. It will be tasty. And it will not take forever to make. This is good.

Other Thanksgiving activities include going to see Harry Potter 4: The Revenge, and putting together my new desk. Yes. I bought the IKEA desk. It will be gorgeous. Although I felt I had to ask my mother's permission (as she bought me my old desk) (and yes, I know I shouldn't have to do that, but, well, it made me feel better to). I recieved her blessings and she even said she'd help pay for it. Nifty.

Only problem is, my new desk is called Mikael, so shopping for it I just kept getting that Franz Ferdinand song in my head.

Gobble gobble.

You know, for a holiday that started out because England got rid of her more annoying citizens, it's pretty interesting how it all turned out.

It's not as bad as how that winter solstice pagan festival turned out...

It wasn't just solstice - the 25th of December or so was the birth day of some sort of god - though I forget if it was greek or roman or other pagan - and then the Church appropriated it. Makes it easier to convert when you just start renaming things.
