Anime angst

So, among the random few cable channels that we do get is AZN - The Network for Asian Americans. It's more interesting than the Golf Channel and tonight they had an anime movie on AZN - The Adolesence of Utena. I had mixed reactions to Akira mostly because I was confused and it didn't make sense to me. This Utena movie leaves that confusion in the dust. WHAT THE FUCK? I can't even begin to describe the things that confused me. Totally could not follow it, and when I thought I could.... there was a giant CARWASH. Fuck. Maybe it's cultural. Maybe I would get it if I were raised in Japanese culture.

But maybe not.

Utena is pretty messed up from what I've heard.

You should watch Trigun. I currently love it and it's not confusing once you reach the end of the series.

Of course, soon we'll be too busy for anime. Did you see that the book lists are finally up? I'm at a total of ten for the quarter.

I'm only at five books, though my course outside of MUS hasn't come through just yet. Does your registration reflect anything about which lab you've gotten? And was I interpreting things right when I signed up for 600?

So much to do. I've got to get down to campus and get an ID, and a U-PASS (A charge for one just showed up on my account, so maybe they'll send it to me?). Oy. I still feel so out of the loop.
