break time

froggy_dearSpring break starts at 11:55 am tomorrow. I'm going to my mom's for the week and will have less access to internet. Which means that you'll see fewer posts about me complaining. At least I expect so.
The property management people called about a month ago and "scheduled" to come in over break and FINALLY resurface the skanky tub and sink. Pics beneath the cut for those who don't recall and want to understand our squalor.
I still have wild hopes that they'll spontaneously give us the cupboards we're missing and/or make the kitchen wall look like it didn't just have the cupboard ripped off of it.
Plans for break: do thesis reading, Wm. St. reading, knit a lot, buy lots of stuff, significantly yarn. SLEEP.
I've applied to two scholarships - one for the English Dept. and one for L & S. I got notice that I could due to gpa for the first one and that my name had been submitted for the second. The thing about them is - you just get the money. And you can do what you want if you get it. It's a chance to get "Thank you for being a student" money. I've got a shot.
I also officially paid to get into the Phi Beta Kappa society. I left feeling sort of special. "Oh! I'm a member!" What is that anyway?
