Yesterday was nice, but highly unproductive.... again!

The laundry got done, yes, but that was all as far as Things That Need To Be Done.

We did whip out ye olde Magic cards and spent some time with that. The rubber bands holding my old decks together had snapped, so I put together a new green deck. It's been a while. We used to play alot a couple of years ago, just [livejournal.com profile] mrcomfypants and me. Actually, I've never played it with anyone else, which is probably good, as we play by what are likely to be rather old rules. Anyway, the game lasted an hour. It was ridiculous.

Things that need to be done:

-read up for Language and Society exam tomorrow (ie do all reading from the semester)
-read a couple more cantos and pound out a draft of my paper of the Faerie Queene
-read Wide Open Town for Tuesday
-Write that friggin' thesis

I'm seriously contemplating heading down to Memorial Library and sitting in one of those boothes in the stacks. I need to isolate myself. I think that I would bring my knitting, though. I can read and knit at the same time. And I prefer it that way. I like this idea increasingly much. I kinda want to go and do this right away, and not in the afternoon. I'll probably lose all drive by the afternoon.

Read and knit at the same time? You are my hero ;o)

I am glad you are there to help, it makes me less nervous, lol.

And just how sweet a couple are you and your man? Very sweet, that's how much :o)

Yep! I've finally got the knit stitch down to where I don't need to look at it while I'm doing it, so it's fantastic for reading less than enthralling things. I like to think knitting takes care of most of the part of my mind that wanders away and thinks about other things.

Help? With what?

I'll direct you to this entry to see what sort of people Daniel and I are. ;)

Well, so far to help with the stitch marker question. But don't think I won't mention any other problems in the hope that you will take pity :)

Now if we could get that sort of gift in the UK we'd be more than happy.

It's SO much easier for me to concentrate in the stacks. I just wish I could do my actual writing there. I need to work on my lit review, but I've still got a visiting prospective student AND a hellacious cold...
