I did my tax return last night and was presently surprised at my refund. Apparently I qualified for a credit that I hadn't qualified for before. Yay for monies! Plus whatever this economic stimulus package means for me - I've filed tax returns, I make (way way way) less that $75,000 or whatever the cap is, so I hope I qualify for a nice $600 check in the mail.

I spend so much time worrying about money - I have such a strange relationship with it. I always want some in savings as a buffer, I often feel I can't buy nice things because they cost too much, but sometimes I just say screw it and buy shit anyway. It's ridiculous and unhealthy. Heavy sigh.

Speaking of money, I'd better get ready for work so I can go make some.

OT: I found your thesis blog through the Museum 2.0 blog and then I clicked my way over here and realised I recognised your username because you'd replied to my post in museum people...Anyway. I tried to open the thesis PDF but it didn't work. :-( Is it just my computer or is there something wrong with the file? I'm writing my thesis about museum websites (with a Web 2.0 twist) so I'd love to see what you have written.

Also, since we have both knitting and museums in common, I'm friending you. :-) (I mostly whine in my journal so it's probably not that interesting to read, but you don't have to friend me back...)

Gah! I've had more trouble with that link, I just don't understand. Anyway, try accessing it through this page: http://lynnbethke.googlepages.com/

And I recognized the Sheldons in your icon when I replied to that museumpeople post. Took all my power to refrain from squeeing. If you're on ravelry, you should join the museum knitters group (http://www.ravelry.com/groups/museum-knitters)...

Thank you! That link works better. Now I just have to read it, too...some time when I'm not tired (it's almost 10 PM here).

I'm on Ravelry and in the Museum Knitters group, which I happened to stumble upon. My username is Teahugger.

I think it's down to $500 for single filers now, but still.

Do you have a link? I'm pretty sure that it's $600.

Even if you don't get the full $600, when you file your 2008 taxes, you will recalculate the credit and if it works out better for you, receive it on that return. Best yet, since you and Daniel will be married, you will be able to jointly claim up to $1200 -- so long as you make above ~30,000 next year.

Oh, you're right--there were competing plans, but I guess that's the one that got passed. Hooray!
