Tonight I decided to play with Daniel's guitar, which hasn't seen the outside of its case in quite a while.

Daniel showed me what the strings are named and explained about the frets and what those can do. He asked me to figure out a chord and I did it! So yay for beginning to understand about something.

But.

BOO! My hand doesn't work! It's broken! Or something. My left pinkie finger and ring finger need to move in tandem to move effectively at all. This makes things like holding strings down real hard. Is this normal? Daniel has far more control and independent finger movement than my left hand. My right hand has much more control and independent finger movement than my left hand. WAH! Actually, this did make me cry some of my own tears. It's frustrating not to have control over something as basic as MY HAND.

Dude. This is hard. I knew playing the guitar would not be easy, but I thought it would be more trouble with pressing down and learning chords and stuff than basic motor control.

Am I a freak? Or is it [livejournal.com profile] mrcomfypants? He is able to control his toes in a most monkey like manner.
