Look at your LJ interests list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.

Bitch and Animal: Band. Or rather, a former duo. Their music runs the gammut and I can't pin it down as anything in particular. They are/were on the Righteous Babe label, so that suggests something. They're catchy, they're serious, they're whimsical, they're sweet, they're hilarious, and they're adorable. And I could never figure out which was Bitch and which was Animal.

Carmex: I've had a serious interest in Carmex since middle school when that cold and tingly sensation on my lips first drew my attention. And ever since I found it in chap-stick like tubes in mint a couple of years ago... oh man. Plus it's way good at managing my dry lips. I always get dry lips and I hate them.

Dyed Hair: I'm interested in it because I do it. I'm more interested in hair dyed in different colors. So just adding red highlights doesn't interest me. I find people react differently to people with colored hair and that varies depending on how the rest of the person is presented.

Finding Nemo: Pixar Film. I'm interested in it because I could probably watch it over and over again. And Dory is my hero. Dory's awesome.

Gertrude Stein: Ever since first reading little bits of Tender Buttons I've been enthralled with Gertrude Stein. Tender Buttons is beautiful and now I have it. Her manipulation of language into a more perfect sound is what I love. I was one of the few in my English poetry class who liked her. Most were searching for meaning and reason. I just love the sound of it.

Human education: This one's mostly just pretension. It's me trying to indicate that I think everyone should be educated in compassion and understanding. But everyone should be able to have an education if they want one. And if they don't they should have some anyway.

Knitting: My interest in this is... well. Okay. It's obsession. See [livejournal.com profile] froggy_knits for more detail. I like being able to make things out of stick and string. I mean, that's just cool!

Medieval religion: I'm very interested in medieval society in general and that time was very important to shaping the Christian religion as we know it today. There were several important shifts in the roles of women from active in the Church to active in the community to active in the convent to just cloistered in the convent. It's just fascinating stuff. I might have pursued a degree in Medieval studies save for my lack of knowledge about how to get a job and stuff like that and languages are a really sticky point for me.

Noodles: I love noodles. Noodles in all shapes and colors. Noodles are pretty cheap and they're pretty tasted. Plus they wiggle neat. And they're called noodles. It's such a funny word. Noodle. Noodle. Noodle.

Puns: Puns are just funny. A clever pun is some of the most effective humor available. Puns. I would make up one that would demonstrate my point, but I can't. I'm not that spontaneously clever right now.

Scotch Tape: I get more fun from Scotch Tape than I should. If I'm bored I can wrap a bit of it around my index finger. It's useful in sticking things together. And well, it's more of something that I like than an active interest, isn't it?

Subtle defiance: Again, this sounds pretentious. I consider my hair a sort of subtle defiance. It's not that subtle. But it's the only thing that I do differently from everyone else, so it sometimes surprises and confuses people and I like that. And sometimes people don't even notice. I like that. It amuses me.

Todd Schorr: Artist in the vein of Mark Ryden only more influenced by the Rat Fink guy whose name I can't think of now. He's not as good as Mark Ryden or some others that I like, but he's nice enough. And creates some very interesting images.

Used bookstores: Love. I love the smell of old books. I love being surrounded by books and knowing that they've been loved. I love books. And I love a bargain.

Woody Guthrie: I enjoy the folk music, what can I say. I mean, my favorite Bob Dylan is the kind that sounds just like Woody Guthrie. And between his wonderfully silly children's songs and his wonderfully wonderful political songs and his wonderful traditional folk songs, he's wonderful.
