Some scenic pictures of the Mt. Rainier National Park area... and one as we drove into King County on I-90.

Sorry, no city pictures yet, but I've got some scenic ones that are pretty nice.

It was a gorgeous clear and sunny day as we drove in from eastern Washington. Then, boom. Gorgeous clouds.

On our way to Mt. Rainier we went past this huge lake (behind a dam, maybe?) and it had all these stumps. I like this picture since it seems sort of, well, fake. But it's not.

Trees whizz by in the National Park. The forests! Oh man! So many trees!

Me and a big tree. We stopped the car at one of those pull offs along the road and explored the trees, doing perilous things. And now I understand the thing about the forest floor being springy. This picture, however, no peril involved.

Unbelievable tree roots. Seriously. These are totally amazing. I want to live in that forest:

River and mountain and golly. coughpostcardcough. I love that you can wander around and go off the beaten trail (at least below the meadows). It's so much more fun.

Amzing view... See that big cloud? That's where Mt. Rainier is. BEHIND IT. Damn that thing is big.

Another amazing view:

Then this is the highlight of the Mt. Rainier trip. There's this gorgeous waterfall, see? I've never been to a waterfall, or at least one as waterfally as this... And we do like to explore....

And we climb down (without a park installed path, using tree roots as a staircase) to the bottom of it. Or just down river from the bottom of the falls. It's amazing. A-fucking-mazing. We could have spent all day down there, but we had to get back since Daniel's parents were waiting. Sigh. Maybe next time.

Wowie. That IS gorgeous! So green! (yes, due to all the fricking rain, but still.) I wonder who cut those trees down?

Very hobbity, if I do say so.

Awesome!

Those pictures are so beautiful! They make me want to go play outside.

For somereason my blog sucks and I can't email you back with an answer to your question, so I will post it here:

Actually, I think it's by Cicely Barker. I found the
image in a tattoo magazine, and later I did find it in
a book, and I think it was the Flower Fairies book by
Barker. I know for a fact that my other fairy tattoo
is by her.
