Lucy has begun exhibiting this really bizarre behavior in which, every several days, maybe once a week or couple of weeks, she runs around mewing like mad and digging at cloth (like bed spreads and rugs). This means - I found out the hard way - that she has to take a crap. When she did it the one time her litter box was really unpleasant. Since then I've been careful to keep it much much cleaner. Yet she still does this. So today, when she was running around pawing at things, I picked her up, tossed her in the bathroom (where the litter box is), and shut the door. Then she did her thing in the box. I've done this before when she acted like she was acting and it works.

But why won't she do it herself? Why do I have to be the guardian of the poop? Most normal days she's fine to care for herself, but occasionally.... this happens. Seriously. WTF?

It's annoying and distressing.

She may not like the kind of litter you're using. She may still feel the litterbox is not clean enough. She may be feeling insecure or neglected (not saying she IS neglected, just she may be feeling that way).

When my cats are mad at me, they will jump in the litterbox, hang their asses over the side, and poop on the floor NEXT to the box. If they're REALLY mad they'll poop in the middle of the floormat in the bathroom. If they're beyond mad, they'll poop in the middle of my bedspread. Thankfully THAT has only happened once in the past two years.

This has nothing to do with your kitty (sorry she's being weird) but OMG TEH AWESOME we went to the art fair today and all around the block we were like, "Jay Long? Where's Jay Long? Is he up here? He was here last time..."

So we finally got to his spot (having not seen him for two years due to being out of town last year) and WOW does he have some great stuff. He's gone 3D, sort of decoupaging old books (and book bindings from realy antiquey things) onto masonite or somthing and then using a shadowbox effect. Same sort of themes, but WOW are they great. Then he has taken really nice high-res photos of the 3D works to sell as smaller prints for cheaper prices, which works great because they show the places where, for example, the book bindings kind of fray a bit on the edges. They didn't have a print of my favorite one, though, which made me sad, and I told him so :(

Had you stopped by? They said that someone had stopped by and mentioned using a bunny as a userpic, but when i asked them if the person had blue hair they couldn't remember :P I'm sure that at an event like this you probably weren't the only blue haired person around, tee hee.
