Daniel bought me Seasons 1 & 2 of Doctor Who for my birthday. It came today! We're up to the third episode. It's awesome. The actress who plays Gwen Cooper in Torchwood is in this third episode. It's interesting watching early episodes and knowing what the heck the doctor is talking about. It's also very difficult to believe that the 8th Doctor fought the time wars.

I got a trial subscription to Audible and downloaded The Partly Cloudy Patriot and When You Are Engulfed in Flames to listen to during my travels. Knitting and listening to wittily observant essays sounds like a good way to pass the time to me.

Right now I am attempting to take up the sleeves on a nice blazer so I can wear it this week. I may make a mess of it, but it ought to at least be functional. I really need to become a proficient hemmer. I think 5'6" is about normal, but it seems to be more petite these days. The Short length of pants usually fits, so... meh. Still need to learn to hem well. And now to sewing.

Trying something new tomorrow: Flying with carry-on baggage only. Because it's only 3 days and because that darn American Airlines charges $15 to check a bag. So no backpack, just conference briefcasebag plus tiny rolling luggage. Not new rolling luggage. Old duct taped rolling luggage. I hope it goes well.

I have conference clothes packed, conference shoes packed, conference presentation packed and emailed, print outs of confirmation packed, knitting packed, two audiobooks and one real book all packed. I'll need to pack the computer soon, too. Wheeee......
