Dear Livejournal,
I need your help. See, we would like to rent a car to drive halfway across country as a honeymoon (yay, roadtrip!). With my brand spanking new AAA membership and some comparison shopping, I have already saved about $300 from what I thought we would have to pay when renting at airports.
Question: Is it better to reserve a car sooner or later? We are looking at renting in mid-August.
Reserve now: Be sure to get the economy sized car we're looking to get.
Reserve later: Price may go up due to scarcity. Price may go down because no one wants to rent a car with gas over 4.00/gallon (and probably more by August).
So I just don't know. What are your car rental experiences?
