May. 4th, 2008 08:10 pmWent to the town that is 70 miles north of us (second closest town of any size "nearby") for the first time yesterday to visit the scenic downtown. Turns out we got into town on Apple Blossom Festival Weekend. More specifically, we got into town during the parade. Nothing turns me into a stressed out, crabby Froggy faster than having to deal with detours and street parking in a town I am unfamiliar with, especially when it was not part of my plan to have to deal with detours and street parking. So I was great company for the day *rolls eyes*.
But we got to eat some fair food. I had a greasy piroshky. And we saw part of the parade. A marching band was playing "Thriller" and "You can call me Al". It was amusing. All the downtown stores were closed, so we didn't get to do that, but went to some major stores where Daniel bought a shirt to get married in, but it doesn't fit after all, so it will need to be returned.
Today we were going to go out on our bikes again, but my front tire was completely flat. You may recall it was completely when we took it out last week, but it pumped up and we rode probably a mile or two on it and it was fine. But completely flat this week. So I'll have to take it down to the bike shop whenever I can get down there, so they can fix it for me, whatever is wrong (nothing is obvious to me). Possibly not till next Saturday.
Then we tried to grill out on the little grill we bought this week. But it was defective. So we returned that and had to pan fry the brats we bought to test it with. Le sigh.
So I guess this wasn't the greatest weekend. But, I think, finally, I have shoes to get married in. These ones:
