Nov. 24th, 2007 11:00 pm4 day weekends are kinda cool. Except for there not being anything to do around here. :P Just sat around all day (what's new?), except for an exciting trip to the grocery store. Made scalloped potatoes from scratch as an experiment. They were tasty, but I love pretty much anything made out of potatoes. I also, apparently, love pork. Pork chops and pork loin, anyway. Yum, all the time, yum.
And I still have one more day off! Hooray. Maybe tomorrow I will actually DO some things. Like... make a list of people to send x-mas cards to (want one?), write a cover letter to apply for my job, and maybe clean my desk (gasp!). I would like to start having more warm food for my lunches, so I might think about some sort of casserole that could last part of the week - anyone have any suggestions? Also, I should get on updating my Ravelry a little; it's out of date.
I'm reading this book on the abandonment of children from late antiquity through the renaissance. It's pretty good. The author is amusing and, at times, downright snarky. I've stopped reading the footnotes as they are so copious as to hinder flow of the larger narrative, but they were very informative when I was reading them. I'm interested in reading his study on christian attitudes toward homosexuality in western europe through the fourteenth century.
