froggy_dearI'm dead tired. Yet I need to shower tonight because we won't be able to use the bathtub for 3-4 days so that the finish or whatever can set.
The weather in Madison was stormy today. It'd go from cloudy to apocalypse cloudy to rain and hail to light shower to slightly sunny and raining. Within a half hour. I got caught in a burst of downpour/hail coming home. I had my umbrella out, so I put it up as soon as it began to rain. 20 seconds later it poured buckets. The back of my jeans (the wind was behind me) were soaked in less than 15 seconds. Totally soaked through. It was crazyness. I hate walking home in wet denim. But boy am I glad I remembered to put an umbrella in my backpack today. Usually I prepare for the exact wrong weather. Not today!
I tried to engage my scholars in a discussion of class today. It was interesting, but I found it hard to form direct questions. I enjoyed it and I felt like I had their interest which I don't always have.
I also spent some hardcore time on my thesis. Okay, not hardcore, but it was a couple of hours and I got some shit done. I spewed out a page and a half of stuff which sucks, but I did it in about a half hour. I don't think that actually writing this puppy is going to be so bad. It'll be revising it to a point where it feels like a coherent paper that I think will be more difficult. I'm having particular trouble with the intro, trying to figure out how to balance things and what order things should be in, and indeed what should be in the intro at all.
I need to have the poster two weeks from last Tuesday. I want to have the paper good to hand in before the end of April. This is doable.
But I'm bodily tired.
I actually vacuumed tonight. The vacuum has this unpleasant tendancy to belch back some of the dust it picks up, but nonetheless there are about three pounds of dust bunny in the garbage (the vacuum is a bagless affair). It is of course absurd to vacuum the day before there will be a swarm of at least two repair/paint people.
Did I mention that I'm tired?
